Story
Futch is one of the Dragon Knights. The first time we see him was in Suikoden 1. In the events of Suikoden 1, Futch's dragon, Black was killed. Without a Dragon, Futch was forced to leave Dragon's Den. While traveling with Humphrey, Futch finds a new Dragon, Bright, with the help of Riou and company in Suikoden 2. Much later in Suikoden 3, we find Futch is once again a Dragon Knight and is traveling with Commander Millia's daughter Sharon. After the events of Suikoden 3, Futch returns back to Dragon's Den to study to increase his ranking in the Dragon Knights.

Analysis
Futch is one of my favorite characters in Suikoden. We get to see him grow from a boy into a man. I personally would like to see Futch get control of the Dragon Rune. It wouldn't be too hard to work into the story and Futch is a great character. The story could say that Millia didn't want to outlive her daughter Sharon so she gave the Dragon Rune and control of the Dragon's Knights over to Futch. This isn't so far-fetched that it could very easily happen and would make many long-time fans of the series very happy.
